This home is a clever study of how conflicting requirements in a brief can be superbly designed and constructed.
Light filled yet private. Sympathetic yet contemporary. Industrial yet homely.
With north to the front of the block, the courtyard layout provides opportunity for two zones of north facing living areas. The high raked ceilings allow the street facing window to be raised for privacy but remain large enough to allow ample northern sun in winter and tree canopy views, while the reminder of the house is able to open up to the internal courtyard, covered alfresco and lawn area – a completely private sanctuary including plunge pool, deck, fire pit and landscaped gardens.
This home combines both traditional and contemporary materials, styles and methods of construction that have been designed and executed in a unique manner giving this home a clearly distinguishable identity.
The result of this project is a prime example of what can be achieved when “the team” is extended beyond potential company barriers to give life to a shared objective of building a home of the highest quality delivered through inclusive and transparent communication. Throughout the build the client’s vision was able to be realised through comprehensive 3-way communication between architect, builder, and client. To say the client is delighted about the design, build process and finished product is an understatement, explaining to friends and family that they would gladly build with 360 Building Solutions and Quest architecture in a heartbeat!
